Session 1 – Energy This lesson will explain what energy is in relation to food, and consider how it can impact on our health.
Session 2 – Carbohydrates This lesson will look at carbohydrates in more detail, referencing all of the different types and their function in the body.
Session 3 – Sugar and Salt This lesson will focus on sugar and salt, the body’s response to eating it and ways to reduce the overall amount we eat.
Session 4 – Proteins and Fats This lesson will primarily look into the welfare of animal sources of protein, dairy and fats.
Session 5 – Eating Out This lesson will look at the foods we eat outside of the home, takeaway and restaurant foods.
Session 6 – Vitamins and Minerals This final lesson of the programme learners will explore the benefits of fruit and vegetables and identify conditions associated with deficiencies.
